Health checks are carried out in Primary 1 and Primary 7 by the School Nursing Staff. Screening of height, weight and vision may also occur outwith these times in accordance with Health Board procedures, and parents notified should there be cause for concern.
Health Promotion activities are offered throughout your child’s school life.
 
At the discretion of the Head Teacher a child may be referred to the School Doctor / Nurse during a school visit.
 
 
Dental Inspection and Dental Treatment
 
Annually, pupils in primaries one and seven have their teeth examined by a qualified dental assistant or dentist.
 
Should any treatment be required, parents will be informed. Arrangements can be made for children to attend the clinic at Bridgeton Health Centre.

The use of inhalers is closely monitored at all times and recorded in School Medical Book.
 
 
Prescribed Medicines
 
… will only be given after the appropriate official form is completed, signed and dated by a parent / guardian / carer as per Education Authority Instructions.
